A Sore throat generally speaking is an inflammation of the back of the throat also known as the pharynx. Roughly ten percent of all sore throats are due to a form of infection known as a Strep infection. The remaining sore throats are usually either bacterial or viral. Strep throat is very common among teenagers and children aged five to fifteen years old. If the person who has the sore throat is young then the chances are high that it is a Strep infection, if not then it is most likely viral or bacterial.
Symptoms of a Sore Throat
Symptons are soreness, inflammation or continuous irritation of the throat.
Causes of Sore Throat
Sore throats are caused primarily by the flu or the common cold. It has also been known to be caused by measles, sinusitis or other sinus related ailments and in very rare cases, by leukemia.
Sore Throat Home Remedy
- Mango bark – Extract the fluid by grinding and apply it locally. Can also be gargled.
- Belleric Myroblan – Mix two grams of the fruits pulp with half a teaspoon of powdered long pepper, quarter teaspoon of salt and two teaspoons of honey.
- Bishop’s Weed – Infuse the seeds with salt and gargle.
- Cinnamon – Boil one teaspoon of powdered cinammon in a glass of water with two teaspoons of honey and some pepper powder.
